Maria is the name my mother gave me. Fröken is what my little students call me. Mom is what my little girl says about a gazillion sweet times a day. I call myself a minimalist, and I am most definitely a gardener, and a hiker addicted to photography. I choose the name SagittariusViking for my blog. I have by all means been a very typical Sagittarius so far in my life.
A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes.
A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. By the end of 2019 I returned to Sweden the country of my birth, after spending eight years in the US, and prior to that traveling all over Europe. I am at home now. I’m a single mom, 40 years old, content, and happy. I have a work that I love. My goal of having a small homestead is within reach. My explorations now are closer to home and heart. I enjoy learning more about the beautiful region Dalarna (Sweden) where I live. I also constantly explore different ways of living a more self sufficient life, and becoming a better version of me.
I started this blog to encourage a healthy lifestyle, with a close connection to nature and animals, using my photos and stories as the medium for inspiration. During busy times you might only find one post every week, but often several. If you are looking for more inspiration there is prints of my favourite photos available in my gallery, and I have written a couple books that are available on Amazon:
