As some of you know, I have chosen to not have a TV for many years now. We recently moved to a new apartment, and I have one big wall in my living room that is completely empty, where most people would have a big screen TV.

I am going to have a large framed photo there (black frame,) and a beautiful light next to it. I am choosing between these photos. Do you want to help me pick the best one?

Our living room have white walls, a red couch, black bookshelves, black living room table, and huge windows- lots of natural light. The apartment has a modern look.

There are three large framed photos (black frames) above the red couch, all are desert landscapes.

The empty wall is right across the room from the couch, and the frame to the photo I am going to print for that wall is double the size, compared to the three above the couch.

These photos all mean something to me. The one of my dog Gretchen because of my love for her, and the rest of the photos are from amazing hikes with my daughter. Which one do you think is the best suited to be the centre of attention in our living room? Thank you for your time. I hope you are enjoying a fabulous weekend!
Love,
Maria
*** The first photo won, since both of my children liked that one the best. I am going to print a couple of the others and rotate them every now and then, using the same frame. An easy way to switch things up at home 🙂 ***
The one that spoke to me was the first with the kayak on the water because of its perspective, putting the viewer into the scene, which immediately feels serene and relaxing. A nice meditative, feel-good shot.
The others would make a nice collage, I think, at least all the golden ones together, and maybe Gretchen needs her own frame? She is such a fine dog, do you hear news from her new owners?

Thank you Eliza. I like the kayak photo as a contrast to all the “dry” desert art I currently have. I like it because it looks peaceful, what I don’t like is that I remember the day being so hot that I was worried.
Gretchen might need her own wall ❤ It was a while ago since I heard news about her, but I know she is well loved. It would be hard to get updates too often, I miss her so.

I get that… I had to re-home a difficult cat once and even though she was a terror, I still cared about her and needed updates for about a year before I could rest easy about her.

I think any one of those photos would look great on a wall but if I have to pick one, I’d pick the third photo. The warm color can warm and brighten up a room.

Thank you Yinglan. That was a great camping trip, bringing back so many wonderful memories 🙂

Hi Maria, I agree with Eliza. Photo one pulls you into the scene ahead. Choice number two is for photo three, with rich desert tones and a bit of bokeh too. ❤️🌵

Thank you! Photo one is Colorado River (AZ,) and number three is from Mesquite (NV.)

I have to agree with Eliza too. That first photo just pulls you in and makes you feel like you are on the water looking at that beautiful blue sky! So serene and peaceful. I think you should do a collage too of smaller photos including Gretchen. I hope she is doing well! ❤️
I love all your photos, and any one of them would be a great addition! 😀❤️

I love the idea of printing more than one and changing them out either seasonally or when the mood suites you. I do Love the one with the tent as well, especially if there’s really good memories. The lighting and colors are so beautiful! Such great comments here too! 🤠🥰

Hi Maria. I want to plead the case for #3. The tent shot will remind everyone who sees it that you went to this place, the sun and strange light effects will make folks wonder, the colors are magnificent and discuss will happen with it.

Thank you, that camping trip was something extra. Sort of like a goodbye, since it was one of the last adventures I did before moving.

I like the fourth one the best. Your daughter really stands out in contrast to that gorgeous rock. The tent scene is wonderful too.

Thank you, it is difficult to choose. All the photos are special to me, for different reasons. I only want one photo on the wall, but might print 2-3 and switch them out periodically.

Oh it is so hard to pick as all those photos would look amazing. I was immediately drawn to print 3 and 5. I love the camping scene and the lighting. I have extensively hiked in Utah and photo 5 immediately took me there with the colors. But that puppy…oh 6 would be one I could stare at all day. You do have your hands full trying to choose.

Foto 3 och 7 skulle jag välja för färgerna och ljuset i dem. Men alla är speciella på sina sätt.

I have decided to print several of them and switch them pout every once in a while. I rather have one really big photo, at a time. I’m picking up the first print today. I personally liked so many of them, all seven in fact, and I got so many greta suggestions. In the end I let my two kids pick the first one to print. I can’t wait to see what it will look like later today.

Oh no It’s too hard to decide, the first one like Eliza said, or the last one would be an amazing contrast against black frame & the reds in your loungeroom. Or just get them all done & hang them seasonally what ever brings you joy in that moment. Cant wait to see what you decide as it will be brilliant. Have fun

The first and the last one where both of my kids first choice. I decided to print several and change them out every few months, but I am starting with the one the kids liked the most. I am picking the print up later today, the frame arrived last night. I can’t wait to see it on the wall. I hope all is well in your world.

Maria, Exceptionally difficult to choose a best photo. They are all stunning. Something pulls at me, Photo 4 with your daughter in it. Frame all of them and place them in different areas of your home, or rotate them every few months. A beautiful post!

Thank you so much! I decided to print several and rotate them 🙂 I am starting to showcase the kids favourite…of course. The frame arrived last night, and I am picking the enlarged photo up today.

Great idea, Maria! My husband did that with some of our favourite photos. I am sure it will look even more beautiful as an enlarged photo.🙂

Hello!
The kayak on the water is my first choice. I feel I’m right there on the water with you. And the last one is also another choice.
All are spectacular.
Have fun decorating!

Thank you Nancy ! The kayak was my kids choice. I decided to print several and rotate them every few months, but the kayak will be the first one on the wall later today 🙂 The photo was taken in your state, so of course you’ll like that one the best 😉

Hi Maria, Oooh…it’s so personal choosing what you will enjoy on your wall. The two images that struck me are the close-ups of the rocks filling the frame (2) and the shot of your daughter climbing on the red rocks, which I love.

Thank you so much Jane. I just couldn’t decide, they are all great memories to me, and it is hard to be objective. In the end I decided to print several, and rotate them. I don’t want it to be too cluttered with photos at the same time. my children liked the first photo the most, so I will start with that one. I got the frame last night, and I will get the photo today. I am excited. I hope all is well with you.
