New Trails

There’s hundreds of walking/biking trails in, and near my town. I’ve decided to explore as many of them as I can during this holiday. Most of them are within walking/biking distance of my home.

Today my daughter and I walked along one of the trails in town, this trail follows the river Faluån that runs through town.

It was a nice, easy walk for a gloomy end of December day. Even though I walk a lot every day, I still barely scratched the surface of all the trails available. I really like that! I’d say that Falun, my town, is very supportive of choices that are good for our environment; including leaving your car at home and choosing to take your bike, or walk places instead, the public transportation system is great, and there are plenty of places to charge your electric car. Looking forward to sharing more views from my neck of the woods. How are you doing? Ready to meet 2021?

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

  1. It is so inspiring to see towns that are walking and biking friendly, Maria. Very little of this is the US as you know. Beautiful pics you shared. Today here in Spokane we are getting up to 6 inches of new snow…guess what came in the mail from REI? My snowshoes! I’m going to give them a try today. I’ll be thinking of you. Cheers to a safe and happy new year to you and your kids!

    1. Thank you! Happy to see you here 🙂 I hope we get some more snow soon, last winter, and this one have been unusually warm, with a lot less snow than normal. I love snow, and love being outdoors in any weather. Have a safe and Happy New Year!

  3. Trails make it fun and easy to get out in nature. It is exciting that you have access to so many.
I’m not a fan of street walking and prefer the fields and woods. We have some old logging roads here, but most of the trails here are maintained by us walking them. Nature fills in quickly where we don’t. We snowshoe when the snow is deep, but since it all melted on Christmas, we can walk just about anywhere, no problem.
Happy and healthy New Year to you and your children.

    1. I prefer walking in the forest, or on the mountains any time. There are mountains a couple hours away, in the northern part of our region. Likely where I’ll end up buying property one day. The forest is all around us, and very easy to get to, the nearest forest trails are about 0.5 US miles from my house. I woke up to a white world this morning, and my ten day prognosis tells me that we are expecting more snow and colder weather, just the way I like it 🙂 I’m excited!

  4. My favorite are all the ducks! What a wonderful town that supports so many trails, walking or biking! I can’t wait to see more photos. Was it snowing in the photos? I’m definitely looking forward to 2021! This last year with some of my decisions was good and bad but I’m in a happy place all around now! Can’t believe it’s almost the New Year! ❤️

    1. It sure have been a year of many decisions. I am so happy that you ended up with a job that is better for you. And perhaps staying in California for now?
It was snowing when I took the photos. We’ve had a cold night, and I woke up to a white world. The next ten days have cold weather and more snow in store for us. I am excited! Happy New Year my friend ❤

  5. Yes, so happy with my new job!! And for now, we will stay in California for at least another year. My mother-in-law is 91 in a care facility so it would be difficult to move her and/or live far away from her so for the time being it seems this is a good place to stay. I’m planning if possible to visit my grandkids often this next year on the weekends. 💖 Here’s praying this will be possible! Miss them, but need to take things one year at a time! ❤️🤠

I hope it snows a lot for you and I know how beautiful all that snow is and the fresh air! Exciting! Happy New Year too!! 🥂💞

  6. Beautiful photos how pretty its snowing I’ve never seen snow in a photo like that, paintings yes but not photos. Clever. I do want to get gumboots & knit jumpers & beanies for all the pretty ducks. How great that there are so many trails. There is a 8klm sea side trail i did with friends & fam a few years back I would love to do it again & take pictures this time to share with everyone, maybe that can be my new year thing to do the trail again. It has been a huge year of adventure for you & your fam. I hope this year is ever peaceful, ever joyous & full of all the good things you need & dream of for you & your 2 treasures.
