I wanted to share another scene from my town. I took this photo on my way to work, early this beautiful Monday morning. I often get off the bus a couple miles from work and take a power walk in the morning. It feels really good those days that I can do that. I want to start riding a bike to work. It’s about 7 US miles one way, a lot of uphills on the way there. I had a plan to start riding my bike more this summer….then my daughter got the nasty virus, and then she had problems with her ankles, so I couldn’t bring her while trying to get in better shape (I’m not in bad shape, it would just be nice to have 7miles feel easy peasy, without sweating it too much since I have a long day at work after the morning ride.) Well, I’m still working towards being able to ride all the way to work. That said, the power walks in the morning is a step in the right direction. Eventually I will reward my efforts with a new bike, I’m going to work a little harder on my fitness first, so that I really deserve it 😉 I walk different ways, but I often pass this bridge, where the scenery shows you a big part of Falun. The bike and walking paths are well developed, and many. I never have to walk on any dangerous roads. I hope your Monday is a good one. It’s a pretty good day here, almost over. Just need to finish a game of chess with my daughter. See you soon.
Love,
Maria
Such beautiful scenery and landscapes, Maria! Amazing. I admire your wanting to walk the 14 miles, I hope you can do this. There is smoke fog over the valley this morning due to the California wildfires, very sad. Be well! 😊

Thank you John. And I really hope it eases up soon. Those fires are nasty. My thoughts are with the people and animals in the line of the fire and smoke.

Very nice view! Mostly I drive going to work but then after the lockdowns because of the pandemic, thought of riding a bike instead. Riding a bike made me rediscover the beauty of the surroundings and realising that I need to get back in shape. Thanks for sharing your day!

Thank you! That this wonderful! I believe any extra exercise in our day-to-day life should be promoted, good for the environment and good for you 🙂 Have a fabulous day!

Nice commute. 🙂 Your exercise plans sound most inspiring! Would you be able to bike in winter, or is there too much snow?

Thank you Eliza. They are pretty good at keeping the bike paths clear, as many people commute on bikes all year round. If I have an early day right after a snowfall I might choose to take the bus that day, other than that it should be possible. They sell winter tires for bikes at the stores.

What a wonderful goal, and I hope you’ll be able to reach it. I have sister’s that run 5 to 10 miles for workouts (they are marathon runners) and I’m in awe as I can’t run like that. I think bicycling is better and sounds fun too! 😎

Thank you so much! Theoretically it should actually be faster than taking the bus, as I often have to wait while changing buses intern. I have to take two different buses to get to work. Have a great day my friend,

That’s a beautiful scene, and quite a picture making that 14 miles more energetic! Thanks for sharing, Maria! We as a family have started to bike together as well this summer. Couldn’t get too long by the time I had to take care of my health. But all said and done, health is of prime importance, during all times, now more than ever!

Thank you for your kind comment. That is a wonderful thing that you started too bike with your family. I would love to do that with my daughter. She even got a new mountainbike gifted to her for her birthday, but sadly she isn’t up to it at the moment. I hope that will change. I have many wonderful memories riding my bike with my sister and my mom. Does your family have any favourite places where you like to ride your bikes together?

Thanks Maria. I agree with the mood swings (if I can say so, as we see the same in our daughter!). Nothing to complain, however I believe every day is different and am certain change is always the constant force. Certain that your daughter will face with that change as well, for good! There are lot of biking trails, you would know that GA is well know for that! Even in and around our community could take us on a trail long wound, and we wouldn’t want to come back, lol! What day!? 😃 Great interaction and would love to hear more!

I used to get off the city bus early too, and walk part of the way, but mostly to take pictures of stuff. How nice you have a new bike coming! I think a 7 mile bike ride in to work would be fun, but I’m pretty sure I’d be all sweaty when I got there!
I hope your daughter is feeling better.

Great view, one of those places that demands you stop to take it all in.
