The Weekly Smile is a round-up of gratitude, held by my friend Trent. This week I have so much to be grateful for. We visited my daughter’s new school last week, and that was a very good experience. Of course that makes me smile. We both believe that it is going to be great in every way. I appreciate the small classes, friendly atmosphere, and weekly swim lessons the most.
Yesterday we looked at an apartment closer to her school and my job. Not only was the apartment very charming, the owner of the house turned out to be a wonderful person. I think we both made a new friend. We stayed at our new house for 4 hours talking to this wonderful lady. I am so relieved that we’ve found the perfect place to live, or maybe rather the perfect place to live found us. It is wonderful to not have to think more about that, especially with the holidays approaching.
There’s been a lot of paperwork for me to do these first weeks after coming home from 8 years abroad. In between paperwork, and long walks to celebrate the fresh air (the photos in this post is from today’s walk,) and visits with relatives, my daughter and I have been doing a lot of baking, and reading. Walks in beautiful nature, baking and reading are all activities that keep me grounded and in balance. I am filled with gratitude as I am writing this post.

Wow, I’m so happy you have found a home you’ll love Maria! That’s sooo important. And weekly swimming lessons? It sounds like schools there are better than what we have which doesn’t surprise me. The horse is beautifully painted, looks wonderful! 🥰

Sounds like a lot of great smiles 🙂 Is your daughter’s school in English or is she going to have to get up to speed in Swedish a little quicker? I have some friends who came to the US from Korea and were placed in school with no English, yet learned much quicker being in an exclusively English speaking school. Have you started work yet? The new place to live sounds great – always nice to have a friendly landlord 🙂 The photos are beautiful, but the top one looks cold! (we had below zero (less than -18 c) temps yesterday morning, so I know cold this year!) I hope you have a wonderful week 🙂

Yes, lots of smiles this week 🙂 I am super happy that my daughter enjoys school, and that we have a place to turn into a home. My daughter’s school is an introduction to Swedish. The students come from other countries. The lessons are in Swedish, but the teachers translates to English when needed. I hope you have a great week!

I can’t wait to see photos and am glad you won’t have to commute too far to work and your daughter’s school will be close too. Lots to smile about, I’m smiling because the storms have blown through and we have many days of sun to dry things out around here!! I’ll be sharing a smile but wanted thank you for yours! Have a great week! 🥰😃❤️

I’m having one of those “happy to be alive” times. I am always happy to be alive but sometimes it just really hits me how lucky I am to be 70 and still here and able to ride my wonderful horse and have such a blessed life. Your posts also make me smile. Things seem to be working out for you and that means it is the right place at the right time.
