Besides the regular black coffee, and tea, we have hot chocolate today. What would you like? My daughter and I just got back from a long walk along the shores of Lake Siljan. We brought hot chocolate in a thermos, and it was just perfect. The sun was going down, and the light was gorgeous. (We are 9 hours ahead of Pacific time.)

In the beginning of the week we had a lot of snow, and went sledding every day. We’ve had mild weather for two days now, and the snow have melted some. This evening it’s getting colder again, and it is supposed to start snowing tonight and snow all weekend. How is your week so far?

Mora Church earlier this week with all the snow still on the ground.

We visited my daughter’s new school yesterday. It was great! I am very pleased, and assured it is going to be a wonderful experience for her. The building was beautiful, and the two teachers we met with seemed to be at the exact right place.

Mora Church from distance. Photo taken today during our walk.

On Sunday we are going to look at an apartment closer to my work, and I am very excited and hopeful about that. Oo I almost forgot, it was my birthday on Monday, it seem like if it was longer ago. I spent the day with my daughter, it was a beautiful day. I’m grateful to experience another birthday. Every day is a gift.

Birthday selfie without makeup. I can’t believe that I’m 40, I guess I’m almost an adult now.

Can I get you a refill on your coffee? If we were having coffee I would ask you to please tell me all about what’s going on in your life right now.

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

  1. I loved the photos. Happy Birthday and you look great without makeup. Sounds like a peaceful week. Mine has been up and down. When you have a child with special needs your life revolves a bit around their mood, but am thankful for every day I have with her.

    1. Thank you so much! It’s been a both peaceful and busy week. There’s a lot of paperwork to deal with when you move to another country. I’m getting towards the end of all that, but I still have some important work left to do there. I enjoy reading your blog. We have reasons to be grateful ❤

  4. Happy 40th birthday, Maria, you are exactly 20 years younger than me! You look fab with or without make-up. Love the beautiful pics of your new (Old) home. How is your daughter settling in? Is she picking up any of the languages spoken? Hans and I are learning German on the DuoLingo app. It’s quite fun! Guten Abend und danke für den Kaffee!

    1. Thank you Terri! I hope your birthday was wonderful. My daughter is picking up some words and sentences. I do expect a big change when she starts school. She is happy and adjusts well. We’ve been enjoying a lot of time together just the two of us. How fun that you and Hans are learning a new language together ! Is there perhaps a trip planned? I wish that I spoke German, its a useful language to know. Thank you for having coffee with me.

  5. Happy 40th! You are only 30 years behind me! haHa! Lovely photos of the scenes in your week. We have had a lot of snow here but Monday is supposed to bring a thaw and rain. UGH! That will be a mess. But maybe it will not happen. Enjoy your hot chocolate!

  6. Hi Maria. Keep those photos coming. And 40 you say? There are only so many things an older happily married guy can say to young gal, but in your case, I’d ask for ID to prove you aren’t 32. How about we compromise and I’ll offer you a happy 33rd birthday?

  7. Thank you for coffee this weekend! Our chat came at the perfect time for me. Loved your pictures. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a day filled with sprinkles and fun. I cannot wait to hear about how the apartment showing was – closer to work and a shorter commute is an exciting prospect. I am so happy we connected this week.

  8. Happy Belated Birthday!! Ah…I remember turning 40, it seems like just yesterday (and now I’m 55). Don’t blink too much, time flies. Such wonderful news that you’ve found a school you like for your daughter. And that you’re settling in well and enjoying the snow! We’re supposed to get snow again today in our little neck of the woods in Wisconsin. Cheers to hot-chocolate moments!!
