Mindful exploring, through the eyes of a viking daughter.

Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share, a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)! Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? You can add your link here.
You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!
Besides the regular coffee I have an assortment of tea to offer you, or classical Swedish blueberry soup (we have lots of blueberries growing in our forests all over the country.) As the cup in the photo promise you; Min Favorit Dryck – My Favourite Beverage. Blueberry soup is often served hot in a mug, or brought in a thermos on your ski adventure. It’s packed with vitamin C and tons of energy straight from nature. I had my daughter try it for the first time today, and it was a hit. I can also offer you my favourite Swedish chocolate to go with your choice of beverage. MMmmmm.
On Wednesday it started to snow here, it snowed all day, and continued to snow all day yesterday. Today the temperature dropped more, and the sun was shining for 6,5 hours. That is how long the day is now. How many hours of daylight do you have? We’ve been using the daylight to the max, taking long walks every day. Between the heat, and the bad air quality in Las Vegas the exercise is good for both of us. There’s also been a lot of snow shovelling this week, something I really enjoy.
My daughter asked me today if we were going to have snow for Christmas, and I told her that I thought so. Her answer to that was that is just going to be SO epic.
I still haven’t found housing closer to my new job, but I am working on it every day. We are very comfortable in my brothers house, but it would be a long commute when I start working full time. Not un-doable, but the days would be long. I hope to avoid that. I’m not worried, there’s still time. How is your week? Any fun plans for the weekend?
We are going to at least one Christmas market this weekend. I want my daughter to experience all the beautiful traditions of my homeland. To be honest, when I lived in Sweden previously I often went to Germany for their incredible Christmas Markets. Maybe we’ll do that next year, no more traveling for a while. Only short day, and weekend trips is what I am in the mood for now. Next week we are going to visit the school my daughter is going to attend. We are both excited about that. She is going to go to a special school that focus on the Swedish language for a few months, and then they slowly integrate her into a regular class on the school of our choice.
Can I get you a refill on your coffee? If we were having coffee I would ask you to pease tell me all about what’s going on in your life right now.
Love,
Maria

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. Above everything else is my daughter. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

I’ve always enjoyed your posts, but now even more as I get to see Sweden! 🙂 Sounds like you are settling in nicely.
Thanksgiving was quiet here and very blustery. It is still breezy today, but at least it is sunny. We’re forecast to have 6-10″ of snow starting Sunday night…our first significant snowfall. Winter seems early this year.
As this is CRAZY Black Friday, we are staying home! One of the worst events of the year, IMO. Bah, humbug! 😉

Wise to stay at home tonight! I didn’t go to a single one Black Friday while living in the US, just not my thing. I am so happy to share Sweden with you 🙂 Now I’m asking myself why I didn’t go back earlier, but maybe I needed to stay away that long (8 years,) to realise what I have? Maybe?

We’ve been getting a ton of rain, the stables is super wet and praying for a few dry days so we can turn out and ride. I’m wondering if this is the beginning of another wet winter. We can always use the rain, but you know how it is with horses, it can be a muddy mess! Lol 😀 Take care dear friend! ❤️🐴🐎❤️

Hi Maria. What are the chances we could beg our virtual friend from Sweden to share a recipe for that blueberry soup? I love many soups but don’t think I’ve ever had a fruit or berry one. If I was there, I’d be running out to find some place that sells it. I really think this would be unique and wonderful.
As expected, I’m loving your photos and glimpses of Sweden. I knew that through the eye of your camera, it would be spectacular.
Before I forget, thanks for helping to keep the coffee share InLinkz URL accessible.
And despite the fact that your are there, I’m still going to wish you a happy thanksgiving because that is my wish for you and your daughter. I’ll bet Sweden has a similar holiday, but it is likely some other time of the year.
Blessings!

Thank you so much Gary, you know I am happy to share my photos, it makes it so much more fun to take them when you know that people appreciate them. This is one of my favourite recipes for blueberry soup:
2 cups of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2 cups of water
2 tbs honey (or sugar)
1tbs of flour mixed with water
Boil water and honey/sugar until everything is solved. Add blueberries, let it boil for about 3 min. If you want the soup to be smooth you can mix it now, otherwise you can skip that. Whisk the flour and water in a separate dish until smooth. Whisk it into the soup. Simmer 4-5 min while whisking every now and then. Enjoy!
I would love to hear if you try it, and what you think. 🙂

Ah, beautiful snow! My DNA test shows I am 7% Swedish along with around 50% Norwegian. Mom always thought is was just Danish, but they are so related anyhow. I hope the new job goes well!

Thank you! It’s so exciting to find out about your origin. I did a DNA test earlier this year, even though I know a lot about my origin thanks to my uncle that is very into genealogy, but it was still interesting. Thank you for coming over for coffee today 🙂
