My Weekly Smile this week is that I am sitting in Sweden writing this post. The rain is soothingly dripping on the roof. It’s Tuesday morning here, nine hours ahead of Pacific time. We arrived to Stockholm yesterday afternoon after 15.5 hours of flying, with a monster change of flight in Frankfurt. I’ve been to that airport many times, but yesterday it was ridiculous. There was some construction, and the extended border controls was just a lot more than I ever experienced (they checked every adult, and the carry-on luggage inch by inch.) Well, the smile goes through making it all the way to Sweden. We came to our gate in Frankfurt, that they changed several times while we were at the airport, just as it closed down, but we made it!
After landing safely in Stockholm we took the first train north towards my brothers town. We arrived there last night. It was great to see my brother and his family. I have tons of things I need to do today, but for now I believe I’m going to go back to bed for a while. My daughter was so excited about the whole trip that she slept a total of one (!) hour all together during our total time of 30ish hours of traveling. We both slept deeply all night last night, and she’s still out. I’m going to take advantage of that before starting the day for real.
I promised to let you know that we made it safe, and we did. Thank you everyone for your positive wishes for our new chapter. I am tired, but my smile is big this week 🙂 I will post updates and pictures from Sweden later. Oooh, and I have a job interview tomorrow at a school that seem very interesting. I am excited about that!
