Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #72–Waiting

This weeks Lens-Artists Photo Challenge is themed Waiting. I am waiting today. Waiting for my flight tomorrow. Bags are packed. My daughter and I are ready for a new chapter of our life ot begin. This is what we agreed to bring to this new chapter.

One carry-on bag, and one backpack each.

Travel light. Live light. Spread the light. Be the light.

I’ve been so impressed by my daughter since we decided to move to Sweden. She have donated most of her toys and clothes, and did so happily. She got to take the responsibility to decide what to keep, and what to give away. She whole heartedly went for the mission. We have done similar things in the past, but not on this scale. Twice every year she gets to go through her toys and clothes to see what she actually use and donate the rest. I am so grateful for every minute spent with this beautiful, wise soul. I feel truly blessed. Now we are both getting very excited about our new chapter that is about to begin..

Everything you own must be able to fit inside one suitcase; then your mind might be free.

Waiting for a magical sunset at Grand Canyon (AZ,) earlier this year.

I hope your weekend is fabulous so far!

Love,

    • Thank you Diana! It is easier when you don’t have so much stuff to begin with. It feels good to go through and not keep the things that aren’t being used in any way. Naturally we always keep some personal keepsakes, just not hundreds of them. ❤

  3. Wow – impressive packing and so mature of your daughter to downsize. She’s learning the value of experiences versus things. (Not that I know much about that, but I do admire people who embrace it!). You’re moving…I thought you were heading to the piece of land you visited just a little while ago? You’re going to Sweden to live?! Oh, my, I need to catch up too!!! Safe travels xxxx

  4. You should, and I am sure are, very proud of your daughter. She sounds mature beyond her years. 🙂 Have a safe and enjoyable trip. We can’t even go on a week’s vacation with such a small bit of luggage. 🙂
