Welcome to the Weekend Coffee Share, a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)! Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life?
I took the liberty to pour our coffee into thermoses today, I hope that’s OK. We are having our coffee on The Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, admiring the view of Hoover Dam.
After a week of horrible air quality in the Las Vegas area it is so nice to get out! The weather is bright and sunny Nevada/Arizona style and 78 degrees. Doesn’t it feel nice up here on the bridge? What do you think about the view?
I think Hoover Dam is pretty amazing. This dam provides power for Nevada, Arizona, and California. To the amount of about 4 billion kilowatt-hours of hydroelectric power every year!
The memorial bridge is an arch bridge that crosses the Colorado River between the states of Arizona and Nevada. We are actually standing right on the border, one foot in Nevada, and one foot in Arizona. I’m so happy we could get out here today, the last time I was here (not counting driving over the bridge) I carried my now 7 year old daughter in a baby carrier..naturally she don’t remember that. She did enjoy today’s visit very much. We have been doing research about Hoover Dam this week, and we are going to spend time next week writing about it for ur Nevada Homeschooling Project. I absolutely LOVE our field trips.
How is your coffee? I do have more in my backpack if you need a refill. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? We do have some plans for adventures in the Mojave Desert. I’ll tell you more about that when I get back.
I sure do appreciate you taking the time to have coffee with me this week. I loved having coffee with you. Now it’s your turn, tell me about your week!
