Mindful exploring, through the eyes of a viking daughter.
My friend Trent shares a Weekly Smile, and encourage others to join! There’s so many things to be grateful for, small and big things.
My smile this week goes to my book project The Desert Around Las Vegas – A Guidebook To Amazing Day Trips In The Mojave Desert, the final draft is on my editors desk as of yesterday. His initial feedback was very positive, which makes me insanely happy. English is after all my second language. I’ve had a couple people look over my work, and I’ve read it so many times that I stopped seeing any errors. I know that this is the best I can do without professional help. I am so grateful to have an editor who’s work I admire help me with this last part before my book goes to print.
The three photos is this post are featured in the first chapter about Red Rock Canyon.
It has been so exciting, and so much fun to work on this project. I started collecting material for my book, taking notes, and saving photos for it in August 2018. It almost become a friend of mine, like a relationship sort of, you know something I work on every day. It’s not completely finished yet, but I’m not going to add anything more now. I welcome the next phase of the process with a big smile!
What makes you smile this week? Share some of your smiles!
Love,
Maria
YAY! What a lovely smile!! What a feeling of accomplishment, and I totally know what you mean about working on something everyday it does become your friend. I’ve worked on crochet projects for friends that have taken me awhile and I find I get attached. But then I know it’s going to a good home. Great smile today!! 😀

Thank you so much Dawn! The desert is fascinating. This project kept me sane when I found myself living in Las Vegas all of a sudden (having an excuse to get outside..lol.) It’s going to be available on Amazon mid November. Thank you for your kind comment!

congrats and glad you took out the word “remarkable” – it never felt right but I was not sure if it was worth speaking up about – the title feels awesome and so close to being done
