Weekend Coffee Share – The Move

If we were having coffee, or any other choice of beverages you desire, I would ask you how you are doing? Yes, you are right, the view is different today. We just moved to a new house. We spent exactly one night here. For now, we’re just here for the weekend. I have one week left at my old job, and next Friday we will move for real. We moved all our things yesterday. Which went pretty smooth.

I’ve unpacked some things today, mostly my daughter’s clothes, and some toys. Her room has priority, but I don’t feel a need to hurry. It’s been an intense week, and I need some downtime, just enjoying as well. I’ll take some photos later when we settled in more. I can tell you that I really like the high ceiling in the living room, with matching high windows. The fire place also add some character to this charming house. It is in Las Vegas, still the city, but it’s different this time. We will make this house a home filled with love and laughter. We will be close to conveniences, which I unfortunately need at the moment, due to the recent health challenges I’ve had this year. I’ve had a lot of time to think. This is the right time for this move. The perfect time. Life some time takes turns that we can’t foresee, and sometimes those turns just turns out to be so much better than anything we ever could of imagined. I believe this is one of those turns.

Just as it is the right time to get back to homeschooling my daughter. We got off to a good start of the school year, and there will be plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures as well. I am really looking forward to some cooler weather, in a few weeks, or so, hopefully. We have 103 today, and next week we’re going to have 109 a few days.

How is your week? What’s going on in your life this week? I just started a new book Track of the cat, by Nevada Barr. I’m going to enjoy some thrilling time in Texas, in that book, this afternoon. Need a refill on that coffee? Cheers!

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

      1. Your welcome, all is well here, thank God for AC!!
Having fun with some new potted plants I got at Star Nursery the other day.

Put down new Cedar chips back there and added some new rocks too. The backyard needed a spiff after nearly one year. Fun!

  1. 103 and up to 109? Ugh. The new place sounds nice. You’ll have to post photos once you are in. A week as transient doesn’t sound fun, but I’m sure it will go well.

    1. Yes…combined with unhealthy air quality.. I’m so glad the cooler weather will be here within a few weeks. I honestly don’t know how much more of this weather I can take at the moment. I will share some photos later. I hope your week is going great ! It’s slightly busy here..

  2. Moving can be a stress but I wish you the best on settling in. It does sound hot where you are. Here the temps have been perfect. But I fear the nights are getting colder and i know what that means. The summer is almost over. But it is good to be alive. I lost a good friend tonight who passed peacefully after a tough struggle with cancer.

  4. I’m happy to know that you are moving into a house that you like. And I am excited for you and your daughter and the home schooling option. Wonderful! I hope that the changes in your health will be better served in your new situation. I can identify with the need to change plans to accommodate new challenges. Best wishes!

  5. So very glad to hear your move went smoothly. I am still hoping and we’re still planning as if we’ll move at the end of September. Was supposed to be beginning of the month, but we had to move it back because of the car repairs. Glad to hear that homeschool is going well as well. I can’t imagine living where 103 deg is normal. For us, that would be ungodly uncomfortable. This morning, Monday, it has been raining a steady (what we call a ‘farmer’s’ rain) since I woke up. Radar shows green across the entire map, so I’m not too concerned, though we’re in the storm prediction zone. We had a busy weekend, too. It was nice, sunny, and less humid so we enjoyed. Have a great week!

    1. Rain sounds absolutely LOVELY!!! I can’t ever get used to these temperatures. Where I grew up, a warm summer day, (a few days a year,) was 70F..lol.
I wish you all the best with your move. One thing I really look forward to is more time for blogging and photography.

      1. At this very moment, it’s coming down in sheets! Large, heavy drops and a bit on the horizontal slant. I shouldn’t laugh, but I just watched someone step out the door just as the clouds burst forth with their worst… But, gee, watching a rather rotund man (say nearly 400lbs) trying to run… it was sadly funny.
