Welcome to our weekly coffee date! How are you doing? How is your week? Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)! Grab a cup of coffee and share with us!
Great things never came from comfort zones…there are some changes in the air here. It made me think of this poem that I like very much.
Don’t Just
Don’t just learn, experience.
Don’t just read, absorb.
Don’t just change, transform.
Don’t just relate, advocate.
Don’t just promise, prove.
Don’t just criticize, encourage.
Don’t just think, ponder.
Don’t just take, give.
Don’t just see, feel.
Don’t just dream, do.
Don’t just hear, listen.
Don’t just talk, act.
Don’t just tell, show.
Don’t just exist, live.
― Roy T. Bennett
I’m not ready to share all the new things that is going on in my life, just yet, simply because I don’t know exactly what the future will bring. I will tell you that I have definitely gotten my feet wet, and taken a couple HUGE steps in the direction of my dreams. It was always my vision that I would homeschool my girl, and live a self sustainable life in the countryside. Circumstances out of my control got me sidetracked for a year. I’m getting back on track. One step at a time. Is it a little scary? Hell yeah, it is! Is it exciting? You bet! I am going to have more time for blogging, (and photography,) in a very near future, since I am quitting my job in Las Vegas. I promise to keep you posted.
Here is a couple photos from the house in Vegas, that I am about to leave before the end of the month. The lime tree above is going to produce lots of lime this year. The pomegranate tree below has many pomegranates, but they still have a long way to go before harvest time (late fall.)
What’s going on in your life this week? Need a refill on that coffee?
I hope your week is fabulous so far, and that your weekend exceeds your expectations 🙂
Love,
Ms Zen

All the best for pursuing your dreams! I had a good week. Today, in my riding, my coach had me work on the canter half pass. This has been very difficult for me in the past and we have not been working on it for some time. But other work we have done have made a great improvement in it an today was a real joy! Have a good weekend.

Wow, good for you, Maria! You did A, now it is time for B. 😉
You moved to the big city and experienced a lot in a year, but you were never happy like you were before, so it feels right that you are taking the next step and moving on.
Looking forward to following your progress. xo

Thank you so much Eliza! You are right, and I would of never moved here by my own choice. It definitely made me a lot more humble. I’m never going to take peace of mind for granted again. I hope you’re enjoying your summer fully. ❤

Thank you Trent! I’ll say it is big, even though there’s a lot of details that needs to fall into place still. I have faith that they will. I’m very excited. It feels like my life’s been on “pause” sort of, for a year. Have a fabulous weekend!

I love that you’re doing what you feel is right for you and your daughter! 🙂 ❤ I mean that. I'll definitely continue to pray for you as you take steps towards your dream, and as you face uncertainties in your future. Beautiful fruit photos. Don't think I've ever seen a pomegranate in bloom, nor did I know that they grew on trees. Thanks for the coffee, it was delish! Have an awesome week!

Wow – Maria. Huge news, but exciting.
I was tempted to think, ‘I hope she knows what she’s doing’, but then I recall who this is and of course you do. It may be a tad early in the plan but the full story most likely explains things. So, grab a few things you need and get this adventure started. With you in the captains chair, it’s going to be a fun read.

Thank you Gary! You know, I often ask myself if I know what I’m doing. As a child I was very shy, and timid. I was scared to death of my stepdad, everything I did reflected that. One day in 9th grade (you can go to college after 9th grade where I lived, if you’re a good student. I was. My stepdad was against college education. Any and all education outside church.) a teacher I highly respected said “you will only regret the things you didn’t do, the things you wanted to try, but never did.” She looked right at me when she said it. I am sure that was on purpose, because I really needed that. Another time that same teacher said “not trying is failing, to give something your best shot and fail, is only a temporary fail.” I’m not that timid little girl anymore, and some of it is absolutely thanks to amazing teacher’s like her. I hope you’re having a great weekend. I enjoyed your coffee story!

Maria, naturally we don’t know what’s going on with you at the moment and perhaps you’re equally in the dark. However, I sense some difficulties with these transitions you’re going through and wanted to acknowledge that and wish you well with it all. Life gets complicated, especially with kids involved. For me, the kids are the anchor which ties me to where I am and sometimes that feels very constraining and I long to spread my wings. However, it gives a stability I probably don’t have in myself. I am longing to travel atm and so many friends are doing big overseas trips and the kids, my health and budget are holding me back. However, I believe our time will come and my husband and I will get to Europe. I spent a year there in 1992 and he’s never been but went to America for a few months.
Best wishes,
Rowena
