Welcome to our weekly coffee date! How are you doing? How did this week treat you? I hope it’s a good one so far. I love Friday’s! The weekend is here, and it’s going to be a good one. The week has been so incredibly good so far, that I expect the weekend to follow suit.
Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)! Grab a cup of coffee and share with us!
I’m usually happy, and feel good, but this week my energy levels have been super high, and I’ve just felt on top of my world – THE WHOLE WEEK. My natural reaction to that is gratitude, productivity, and a search for new meaningful projects…well..the one “project” that I’ve really missed since moving here is to have a horse. Hold your horses (pun intended..) I did not buy a horse this week, but I did spend time looking at horses online.
It would be doable to board a horse, if I really wanted to. It’s been a hole in my soul, not having a horse. Since I was two years old being around horses have been crucial for my well being. As a child, and an adult it’s been my foremost zen strategy, that have kept me grounded throughout life. The first months without horses last fall, I grieved my horses, but now it’s been 10 (VERY LONG) months, and my heart has room for a new horse. Would I? Could I? Should I? I don’t know. I’ve never had a horse in a city. There’s plenty of boarding facilities, some with access to trails. I do know that my heart will let me know when the time is right. I miss riding, and I miss sharing my passion with my daughter. I also miss just spending time with my horses; grooming them, taking them for walks, learning new things together. I doubt that I will look at any horses this weekend (or maybe I will,) but I’ve been thinking a lot about getting a horse this week. I’m not kidding myself, it’s totally not the most practical thing to do, while living in the city, and being a single mom..I would totally do it for my own sanity. The best times I’ve had in my life have all included horses, in one way, or another.
I still have have some photos from last weekends camping trip to Death Valley to edit, and upload to my gallery. I’m going to spend some time doing that this weekend, and I’m definitely going to do some reading. I’ve started to read Louis L’Amour’s books. I finished The Daybreakers today, and just started Sackett. I’ve never read anything from him before, but I really like western history novels, so I thought I’d give his books a try. Are you reading anything interesting at the moment? Any fun plans for the weekend?
Thanks for having coffee with me. I hope your weekend becomes everything you wish for! Since it is evening as I am writing this, I’ll leave you with a sunset photo from last weekend. This is Saratoga Springs, in Death Valley National Park.
