Weekend Coffee Share; Gratitude – Gardening – Zen Strategies

Can I tempt you with a strong cup of coffee this Friday morning? Or maybe some tea?

Weekend Coffee Share is a time for us to take a break out of our lives and enjoy some time catching up with friends (old and new)!
Grab a cup of coffee and share with us! What’s been going on in your life? What are your weekend plans?

Are you having a long weekend this weekend? Here in the US is common to have Thursday-Sunday off. I’m working as usual, so tomorrow will be my first day off. I haven’t been offered any holidays off, since I started this job, and I haven’t really had a need for it. It is nice to have most weekends off though. Are you blessed to be able to spend this Easter with your extended family?

There is going to be some Easter celebrations for the kids in our house on Sunday. Like most kids, my daughter loves the Egg Hunt.

Tomorrow Saturday we’re going to get out of the city for a little bit. Hopefully see some wild flowers.

This time last year, I spent a lot of time in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

About now you’re starting to see the Mule Ear’s popping up everywhere there. I do miss that sight! And the crisp, cool mountain air! It’s always going to be one of my favorite places in the whole world.

I definitely don’t live in the past, but I am extremely grateful for all the amazing places I’ve been blessed to experience in the past. It’s a zen strategy to remember, to let myself get immersed in the feeling of gratitude towards those places, if that makes sense.

Anyone’s life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.

We’re probably going to make it an early start tomorrow, since the temperatures are creeping up towards the 90’s. You’re asking where we are going? Honestly, I don’t really know. There’s a few places on our wish list. Some on the California side, and some here in Nevada. I’ll get back to you about that later this weekend. I do know that it is going to be fabulous, to breath some fresh air, and see something other than the city.

Would you like a refill on that coffee?

Speaking about high temperatures, I mulched my outdoor plants yesterday. It’s funny that it’s already hotter than the preferred temperature to grow tomatoes..I’ve decided that I’m not going to plant anything more in my garden, but rather see how the seedlings I already planted are doing. Knowing myself, I’ll probably add a fruit tree, (or two, or three) to my container garden as the season unfolds. I wrote a post about some of the challenges of gardening in the desert earlier this week. You can see it here, if you by chance missed it. I am sure, I know, I will return to this subject.

Have a fabulous weekend my friend! Happy Easter!

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

  1. Greetings Maria.
I hope you’re enjoying the heat because I know where you came from in Northern Calif. was also pretty hot during the summer.
We still have pretty moderate temps here in the wine country, but the 80s are just weeks away.
Do let me know if you try out Scribophile.com. It worked out pretty good for me and I love the revised stories I used them to work on.
    Have a wonderful Easter.

    1. Well, I’m not exactly enjoying the heat. I manage OK so far. I went to your state this morning, and did a hike on higher elevation, and looked at wild flowers. That was fabulous!!

I have been meaning to try Scribophile all week, but haven’t had a chance to do it yet. I’ve looked around at the site, and it seems very interesting. I will keep you posted!

I hope your week is amazing ❤ Happy Easter!

  2. I am enjoying a nice 4 day weekend. I used the first day to rake the front lawn and tidy the front garden. There was an Easter egg hunt this morning and our big Easter dinner tonight. It is nice to have a few extra days off to enjoy the holiday. Happy Easter!

  3. Beautiful park picture. I can’t wait until we take a road trip and hit up some national parks one day.

Whew, the heat. It hit 85 here last week. I’m not a fan of the heat and humidity at all!

  4. Reading a little late, Maria! I was one of the lucky ones who had the time off (I only teach one day), Hans took Friday off, so we left for our delta campground Thursday evening, coming home Sunday for Easter services. I spent Sunday afternoon planting my sunflower babies in their designated garden, they’re looking good! I hope you had a wonderful weekend…temps are getting mighty warm here this week with a north wind, 80+ all week! Oh and I really love your canvas prints. At first, I thought the image could be published that way on your blog!

    1. Thank you my friend! That sounds like a marvelous weekend! My weekend had just the right amount of nature, and new experiences. My daughter had a fabulous time the whole weekend, and we had a visit from the Easter Bunny, that makes me incredibly happy itself.
