When a caterpillar bursts from its cocoon and discovers it has wings, it does not sit idly, hoping to one day turn back. It flies.
― Kelseyleigh Reber
We were so blessed to see hundreds and hundreds of butterflies during our hike in Red Rock Canyon last weekend. I didn’t catch any of them with my camera, we were just too busy admiring them. We did see some caterpillars on their way out, which also was pretty cool to see.

We were looking for signs of spring, and saw many, including more Joshua Trees in bloom. The last time we went out to Red Rock, they were only just starting to bloom, now they were at their peak. It was quiet the sight.

The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also. – Harriet Ann Jacobs

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors.
A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations.
Love,
Maria

Nice to see the JTs in bloom. You must have seen the painted lady butterfly migration. So amazing, isn’t it?
Signs of spring here are snow drops blooming, almost all the snow has melted, it’s raining, bulb shoots are growing, the trees are budding up, and the early neotropical bird migrants are starting to appear in larger numbers. The male goldfinches are canary yellow again, all ready for breeding season. We now have a dawn chorus … Delightful!

It is amazing Eliza 🙂 We did not expect to see so many! Your spring sounds so delightful. It feels like spring is almost over here. We’ve had close to 90 degrees for a few days. I hope your new week is starting out as great as I imagine, hearing you describe your signs of spring.

Ah, the signs of spring! The desert has amazing signs like the superbloom (when it rains enough) and certain cactus flowers! Gorgeous photography, Maria. Our sign of spring here is a rather fierce North Wind kicking up pollen!

We spend the winter in Florida and one of the first signs is the red flowers on the bottle brush tree blooming. we are heading back home to Canada on Friday and apparently there are NO signs of spring there yet. This is very late and to be honest i am not looking forward to it.

Awe, Canada and Florida, those are two very different places. I personally love the cold…but live in the hot desert. Lol.

I’ve never been to that area in spring time, how amazing to see the desert blooming! Love the close up pics of the blooms. In the Bay area, the California poppies have come out everywhere, love the pop of orange, my favorite color!
