Last weekend I was a tourist in my own city, sort of. I stayed a night at Palms Place. It was a spur of the moment thing. I had to stay in the city, due to family business, and made the most of it.
I took the cityscape above Saturday night. Vegas is enchanting when it puts it night costume on. The one that most people probably associate Vegas with. It is a mirage, and illusion in many ways. You can get, and do anything you like in Vegas. You could also easily loose everything you have. I’ve come to the conclusion that I have a love-hate relation to my new home. There are many things to love, and other things that I choose to not see (to be able to focus on my mission.) There are opportunities in this city, that’s for sure.
This photo is taken Sunday morning, standing at the same place, just slightly to the right. It’s very different, don’t you think? You can see that there’s actually a lot of greenery around the houses. Overall big efforts are made to make Las Vegas an oasis in the desert. It is an oasis. I love the palm trees you see everywhere. That makes me think of vacations along the Mediterranean Sea. Makes me very relaxed, and fills me with a feeling of gratitude.
I took this photo at the very first light, while walking my German Shepherd. You meet all kinds of interesting people this time of the day. . Sin City can not take away the beauty of a sunrise. A sunrise is still a sunrise, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I hope you enjoyed these cityscapes. I uploaded them to my gallery, and you will find available prints here, or by clicking on any of these photos. I’ve used Fine Art America for my prints for several years now, and I’m very happy with them. They recently gave the site a face lift, that we could choose to use for our personal art pages as well. I really like it! I’d love your opinion about it!
Have a fabulous Thursday!
Love,
Ms Zen
Beautiful photos MJ! I too have a love hate relationship with Vegas. Two things – the traffic and that so many people on the West Coast are just not friendly. They are so closed. My new neighbours are tough to get a chat going with.

Yes, I try to avoid the traffic as much as I can..If I need to go into the strip for some reason, I usually take Lyft. That way I don’t have to deal with it personally, sort of. I found my neighbors to be pretty quiet as well, but people I meet when I’m out with Gretchen often approach me and wants to talk. Maybe you need to get a dog..;) LOL. I hope your week is fantastic. Almost weekend again. I enjoy seeing your photos, even when I don’t have time to comment every time. I do enjoy them a lot.

Wow thanks MJ! I’m glad you like my photography. I’d love to have a cat but won’t because of the damage they can do, same thing with a dog. My home is pet-free.

Love the early morning photo, in particular, but I enjoy cityscape photos and artwork of all sorts. Horizons speak to me.

Thank you Lizl! I really enjoy horizons as well. I actually got the wide angle lens I took these photos with for that reason. I hope you’re having a fabulous week!

It’s been a week rescheduling itself, here. Al and I decided that we hadn’t gone out for dinner for too long, and so this evening we went to a favorite steak house, where i had grilled shrimp for the first time in a decade or more. Fun! And my haircut was rescheduled because my stylist had to go into the hospital a couple days early to have her baby. I am finally making inroads on the mess in my bed-sitting room. Getting furniture pieces where I can access them. Finding pieces of art that I need to have framed. So much became chaos when my parents died, a few years ago. I am hoping it doesn’t just turn into a rearranged mess, again. 😀 Hope your week’s going well!

I’m so happy that you got to enjoy a nice dinner. I enjoy eating out from time to time. It’s nice to dress up a little and have someone else do the work.

You’re so sweet Diana. I am so happy you enjoyed the photos. I recently got a new wide angle lens that I felt was just perfect for this. I hope your week is amazing. Almost weekend 🙂 How is the weather? It’s windy here. Is it windy over in SoCal too?

This week I’m in Arizona, North of Phoenix helping my son and daughter-in-law babysitting young Alice this week. My daughter-in-law had surgery 5 weeks ago for a broken ankle and my family members have been taking turns staying to help since they don’t have much support here since moving in October. I’ll return to Calif Saturday evening…. I absolutely love spending time with my cutie patutie, but I miss my horses too… Life sure can be busy!! ❤️💛🧡❤️

Ooo, I hope you’re having a sweet time with your grand daughter. I’m guessing that you’re flying? If you don’t , and you’re driving by here, I’d love to see you, if you have time. Or next time 🙂

Awe, I’m flying this time. The next time I drive or if we visit Vegas this year (we use to visit Vegas every year because it was a close vacation with my kids. The MGM Grand is one of our favorite hotels with a river pool. And it’s amazing all the entertainment for kids they have actually. Not like the old days when it was only sin City. Lol – but I digress, I’ll definitely let you know if we can meet up, would be great to break bread together! ❤️

Yes, please do! MGM is beautiful. There’s a couple restaurants there that I really like.
