How are you doing today? It’s Friday, and life is good, right? There’s plenty of coffee, if you’d like a cup? How is your week so far?

I’d say that I feel great, on top of my world great. I have a fun adventure planned for my daughter this weekend. She’s going to be so stoked, and that makes me very excited. I told her about it this morning, but she doesn’t know exactly how awesome it really is going to be. I spent a lot of time planning this adventure, and getting everything ready. As you might remember she asked me two weekends ago why we never go on adventures anymore… (like if moving over 600 miles, to another state, isn’t adventure enough…) When she said that, I immediately started to think of fun adventures. Girl..I’m going to give you a good one! I can give you one clue, and tell you the rest when we get back on Sunday. It will include getting out of the city. (It’s going to be 109 in Las Vegas this weekend, I don’t really care so much for more heat.) Lol, what did you say? You already knew that I wasn’t going to stay in the city during a weekend? So that’s not a good clue? Sorry.. that is the only clue I will give you, for now. I promise a full update afterwards. Well, I guess I could tell you that the adventure will include roasting marshmallows over a campfire. Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

It’s been a great week here in southern Nevada. I’ve had lots of fun at work, getting to know the kids better. I’ve had time to work on my photography, learning more about my new Canon EOS 6D Mark ii. I’ve also edited all the photos from last weekends adventure, even though I haven’t had a chance to share all of them yet. The best ones, if you ask me, are yet to come.

I’ve made some new local friends. People seem very friendly, and open here. I take the kids at work out to parks, and talk to other parents, or they talk to me. When I go out on photo excursions I often meet other photographers, that likes to talk. When I work with my German Shepherd a lot of people approach me. I’ve had a few offers from people wanting me to train their dogs, and a few people trying to buy Gretchen from me. I have been offered several thousands for her, even though I didn’t pay a dollar for her when I got her, she is worth a lot now with all the training I’ve put into her. For me she is priceless, and I will never sell her. She is my best friend. Anyways, it seems easy to make new friends here. Actually a lot easier than in northern California. Not that I ever had a problem making friends, but here it seems very easy. The days are just flying by. I might not feel like a local quiet yet, but I do like it here. (As long as I get to do some exploring outside the city every week.)

The sweet family I work for took me out on Wednesday night, to a very good buffet at the M RESORT SPA CASINO. It was absolutely delicious, and everything was super fresh. The casino itself was exquisite. I particularly liked the entry, it had beautiful flower arrangements in a glass wall. I was kicking myself a little, because I knew that the lens I had on my camera wasn’t going to do the sen justice, so I didn’t even try taking the picture. I will be back for that one..

I hope you’re having a wonderful, amazing weekend!

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

  4. It sounds like you are doing well in Los Vegas. Tell people you will sell Gretchen… for $10,000,000.00. It is funny. If you see a well behaved child, do you ask the parents if they are willing to sell them? Oh well, strange people… I can’t wait to hear about your adventure! There are some Nation Parks and National Monuments that are “close” to you. Of course, for some “close” means about as far away (or farther) than Northern California, but since there are no other cities around there, LV is the closest.

Glad you are having a good time and are able to get out and have an adventure with your daughter this weekend!

    1. “If you see a well behaved child, do you ask the parents if they are willing to sell them? ” I know! Right? Even though I have heard the other way around manny times, when a child is having a bad day and the parents jokingly offers to give them away..

I am excited to explore the National Parks and nature areas within a few hours from me. If one can make it a weekend road trip, it counts as close for me. I think I’m most excited about exploring Mt Charleston more (where we went this past weekend,) Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park. I’ve been to Grand Canyon before, but there’s obviously a lot to explore, to last a life time at least. I have not been to the parks in Utah, so that is very exciting.

I hope you had an awesome weekend. I’m looking forward to drop in for coffee sometime today 🙂

      1. I would love to go to Zion and Bryce Canyon. I hit a few of the parks, like Grand Canyon, as a child, but missed most of the Utah ones. I also never made it farther north than San Fransisco so, so I saw Monterrey and Yosemite, but not Shasta or any of the other places around where you used to live.

I hope you had a marvelous adventure over the weekend and have a good week coming up!

          1. I don’t understand why WP puts some comments into spam. Hmmm, I haven’t looked at the spam folder in a while. Wonder what’s there…

Anyway, I hope you are having a good weekend. I’ll “stop by” soon to see if you have a coffee share this week.

            1. I know, some comments are obvious spams, but other comments from bloggers you frequently interact with shouldn’t end up there, that’s weird. .. I started to write a coffee share post last night, as I was finishing up this morning my computer died. Like really died with a full battery… it’s almost 7 years old, I never had a computer last me this long. I opened this one up several times and vacuumed out all the sand from taking it with me in the desert..lol. Maybe I need to get a new computer today. I’m going to look at this one after working my dog, and then we’ll see. Have an awesome weekend!

              1. Ugh, having your computer die is the worst. The last time I lost a computer I lost almost a year worth a photos. Which reminds, I need to back up my photos again, it’s been a while…. 7 is getting old for a computer. My “music computer” is older than that and still runs Win XP. I’m putting away money to replace it.

New computer or not, I hope you are having a great weekend!

                1. Yeah, I have seen a slow death coming..lol. Besides the blog post I spent two hours writing a draft for, and the four most recent photos I hadn’t edited yet, the loss is minimal, luckily. It is dead dead. The motor burned. Lol. I’ll have to buy a new one tomorrow.

  5. I bet your daughter will have lots of fun at the adventure. Roasting marshmallows over a campfire is so great. I also totally understand you’re leaving the city given the heat. I wouldn’t want such heat where I live, which is a rural area, but I definitely wouldn’t want to experience it in a city.

    1. Thank you Astrid! We did have a wonderful time. It felt great to spend time in cooler weather. It was about 30 degrees cooler at 7000 ft elevation. The views were amazing, and both me and my daughter enjoyed it a lot. When I asked her what she liked the best, she said toasting marshmallows 🙂 I hope you had a marvelous weekend. I’m going to catch up with the coffee shares during the day. Thank you for having coffee with me.

    1. Thank you my friend. I was kind of worried myself…a little bit. I really loved Northern California, but now I love it here as well. I hope you had a great weekend. I’m going to drop in for coffee later today 😊

    1. Thank you Nancy 🙏 yes we went camping at Mount Charleston. It was so beautiful. It’s only one hour away. It was the first time there for me, but I’m sensing a new favorite place. I hope you had a wonderful weekend my friend ❤️

  6. Thank you Maria!! The baby shower went GREAT! She got so many cute things.

I’m so behind on blogging, my life is so incredibly busy. I’m so happy I’ve made a few friends here on WordPress, so fun, enjoyable and comforting to keep up with the few that I do, especially with you! ❤️💖
