My most precious gift for my birthday last month was a road trip to the Lost Coast. I have been there several times before, but this time was very special. I took many photos. The photo above is from a hike my friend and I did, on the morning of my birthday. It was cold, and the light was magical. Even though the ocean wasn’t still, it was rather silent, compared to the storm we admired the night before.
Have you hiked the Lost Coast? I haven’t hiked the whole coast line yet, but it’s definitely on my bucket list! I’m a great swimmer, but the power of the ocean is something I have a lot of respect for. I’m mesmerized by it’s beauty, and terrified of its powers. I would not feel comfortable living close to the ocean, but I enjoy visiting very much. I’ve spent the majority of my life at higher elevation, and the mountains are calling my soul. When I do go to the ocean I enjoy it tremendously, and it’s a great adventure. If you had to choose a place to live the rest of your life… would you choose the ocean? Or the mountains? Or maybe the city?
Enjoy this beautiful new week ❤

Ms Zen
Love your photo. My husband and I love the North Coast and talk about retiring there, but I need trees and the mountains. The city, no way, nope! I really like the area around Trinidad and further north among the redwoods, we’ll see. 😉

Thank you Margaret! The area around Trinidad is extremely beautiful. I like the calmness and redwoods of course. I can see how it would be the perfect place to retire. Fingers crossed for your dreams to come true ❤

A beautiful photograph and as much as we love the mountains, we are happy living by the sea and its milder climate in Winter 😉💖 xxx

Gorgeous photo!
I visited Shelter Cove once and the area really is outstanding, but all those tsunami signs were a bit unsettling!
Though I love the ocean, I am a woods and hills person, born and raised, and while I wandered a bit, I ended up coming back to my roots. I love where I live!
