Embracing Happiness

This past weekend I’ve spent some time meditating on things that makes me happy. A conversation with my best friend triggered a storm in my mind. Not in a bad way.

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
― Mahatma Gandhi

I ended up scrolling through hundreds of photos that I’ve taken the past five years. The ones that makes me feel something are all horse related.

I need to get back into making Equine Photography a priority. The connection I feel with the horses while taking them, learning more about their way of communicating, and the conversations with the people in that world, is actually something that I miss more than I thought I did.

Maybe my recent purchase of a young horse have something to do with my thoughts as well? Maybe it’s the beginning of the year that makes me feel that there’s a new world of opportunities, and adventures waiting out there?

I don’t know exactly how I am going to take this to the next level, but I trust the universe to show me the way. There’s a lot of anticipation, and excitement in the air. Here’s some of the photos I found on my computer this past weekend. It’s that feel that I’m after.

I hope YOU had a wonderful weekend. Do you have any new goals that your working towards 2018? Tell me about them!

It’s all about experiences, and the healing power of nature. Life is about choosing happiness. I entered the magic world of photography when I was five years old. My gypsy soul have taken me to many different countries, and definitely taught me to be more humble. I believe that you are what you eat, body and soul. I enjoy growing my own food, and spending time outdoors. Above everything else is my daughter. A Sagittarius loves to travel, have an open mind and, and a philosophical view. It motivates them to wander around the world in search of the meaning of life. Sagittarius is extrovert, optimistic and enthusiastic, and likes changes. A lot of that perfectly describes me. The fact that my ancestors, on both parents sides, were vikings, doesn’t exactly lessen my desire to explore. Maybe a slightly more mindful exploring, compared to the average viking. My blog, and my art prints is a results of my (inner and outer) explorations. Love, Maria

    1. Thank you! I took these photos during one of my visits to Wynema Ranch Wild Horse Sanctuary. It’s a beautiful place, with wonderful people, caring for horses that lost their freedom for one reason or another. Many of them are from bands that accidentally wandered up onto major freeways, and had to be captured, for their own, and everyone else safety. At this sanctuary they live on hundreds of acres, in an environment almost identical from the one they came from. I love going their observing the horse, and taking pictures.

  1. I really like that first photo. I also think it is important to connect with the things that you love, so it sounds like you are doing that. I am doing a new photo challenge this year, and I wrote about it here and there it a link to it if you wanted to check it out, https://wp.me/p2owKx-Ua It might not work with what you are doing, but it sprung to mind while I read this post so I’d thought I mention it.

    1. Thank you! I really like the softness in that photo as well. The mares soft eyes was what I was trying to capture.

Thank you for sharing the new photo challenge. I looked at it, and I’m gong to give it a try. I believe it would help me, and push me out of my comfort zone. Which I might need 😉 Thank you!
