Feeling Lucky

Yes, despite the curves, or maybe because of the curves life throws every once in a while, I feel extremely lucky. Good things are always coming my way, and today I was once again reminded of it. My old car got me stranded a couple weeks ago. I sold it today (as a single mom I need something safe, that runs and drives without needing too much maintenance) = one step closer to the truck I need to make my little farm more efficient. I also have a little (non-farm related) project going on, that I had several people show interest in today, another step closer to that truck!

….and drum whirl I tested the very first, super delicious figs from one of my fig trees, like the first figs ever that I’ve grown myself. My smile is HUGE!  Figs is a passion that I have, that not so many people know of. I have several different varieties planted at my place, but since I’ve started them from scratch they are all young trees. I have two trees with their first fruits on right now, and one of them had a couple figs ripe today. They were absolutely fantastic!! I see many more varieties of figs growing here in the future, along with pomegranates, that also are draught resistant, and perfect for our climate. That they both happen to be super fruits isn’t exactly bad 😉

Just had to share the smiles 🙂 I hope you’re having a fantastic evening!

Love,

  1. You are so lucky! I love figs and have been wanting a fig tree for hears but can’t because the bear loves figs. They literally have torn up my other fruit trees. I am happy for you though, darn lucky, count your blessings! 😉

      • It is much better, no new fires. We took a ride today and went through two neighboring communities, we saw so much devastation, so many burned homes 😦 so sad. October is always a bad month but this was definitely a fire storm. Have a wonderful week!
